This is how the project has come together thus far,

Week 7

Alright so this week the plan was to get on top of textures and colours….

I think I rendered one frame this week

Sadly not much studio was completed this week.

As you can probably tell a lot of work needs to be done here.

Hopefully next week is different.

Week 8

This week, we failed as a group to do anything studio related.

Week 9

Another week, not much done on studio this week, apart from Justin finishing the new house model.

I went to the library and borrowed the DVD collection of digital tutors, the global illum, lighting and final gather ones.

Going to spend the weekend sussing these ones out.

Week 10

Alright, the heavens have opened and studio has kicked off again!

I have been doing a lot of lighting tests this week and many tutorials on finding out how to adjust lights and set

up final gather and global illumination. Rendering time is what sucks right now but the renders are looking pretty

shit hot. ha-ha

I also learnt a pretty handy feature in Maya this week, its the “Bookmark” control, what the bookmark does is it allows

you to save a preset view, this view is stored in the memory and saved and can be recalled at any time for rendering.

So you can move around and adjust the lights in your scene and then click your bookmark and the camera automatically adjusts

itself to your point that you saved it to. This came in handy when I was test rendering, it made occlusion passes a breeze to line up,

didn’t have to worry about moving around the freedoms o yeah!

Week 11

Alright week 11 you crazy potato eaters almost time for submission of work o yeah! Cant wait this is going to look mad!

Anyways so this week we completed our house design, modelled 77% of the furniture for the house.

I started working the lights in the master bedroom and Ryan got a kick start on the flash interactive.

I started playing with Lamberts and blinns on various models to see what they would look like and what would match up in the room, I have chopped and changed around the way the things where laid out in the room and now just need to give it a good texturing.

Week 12

Hey there Andrew Kramer here from video co-pilot .net, nah.. Only joking its just Dan the man from gmail .com

Alright so what was achieved this week … well a lot less then I had expected but still a lot of work was put in to it.

I spent most the week playing with lighting and manipulating photons in the lights, adjusting the positions and test rendering scenes in all different types of modes.

I used final gather and global illumination in some test renders to check out there intended results and lit up the entire house with lights and checked the shadows out.

Alright so what didn’t go well this week for me… well when I was rendering out with the lights I had got a lot of blotches all over the screen and this mad me mad as I could not figure why this would be happening and at such a late time in the week… but I figured it out when I enabled my light maps which showed me exactly where my photons would be bouncing off and I found out that I hadn’t put enough photons in the scene and light was not making it all around the scene to make it look pretty and stuff.

All this aside and 6 cans of red bull later another step in the history making event of the studio 2 project was planted and cemented into the ground to be told for many generations to come.

Peace out Holmes next week is knuckle down week agh!

Week 13

I kissed a girl and I liked it… I liked it…

They call me Stacey that’s not my name that’s not my name.

This week started off with a bang and ended in a bang, bang. What do I mean by this?

Let me begin at the beginning.

It all began when I woke up on Monday morning after pumping out a 12 hour shift at work and coming to the sad realisation that our uni studio project was due at the end of the week and we were far from completion so we thought but it was not too much to stress about because we knew if knuckled down in our final week we would smash it up and have the title of “Kings among men”.

So this week I finished lighting and rendering every room in the house as well as texturing the master bedroom and adding in a back yard to the scenes which were being rendered with a window view near it, I also textured the floors all over the house and cut up the floors up so that it would be set for the textures I would later apply once I textured mapped them out in Photoshop.

We also significantly cut the size of our project file down, I was in charge of shrinking the file by creating a new Maya file then making separate room files and importing them into the one.

After I deleted the history meshed all the files together changed all the textures into one texture map per room and applied the floors we went from a 65meg Maya file down to a mere 6.52meg file.

This file was the better of them all as well as we experienced no lag on movement and more flexibility when it came to retexturing and file naming.

Hence this made it easier when it came to rendering time and when we had to render occlusion layers and copying the different rooms onto those layers.

What saved us? Well we figured out a different way to pathing out cameras in Maya which saved us a fair bit of time when it came to the rendering stages, we used this thing called bookmarks.

Bookmarks simply save your camera state to where you are on the file to the camera you are looking through so that at any time if you have moved away from this spot you just have to click on the bookmark you have saved and it send s you to the position all perfecto if I dare say… which I do.

So we key framed our bookmarks from one another to go from a central point then to room to room to get a nice seamless camera stream into the selected room.

What problems we had here though was the camera did not originally head straight to the room we selected, instead it would do a weird 180 degree turn on the Z axis and then it would spin in the animation and look crap this is not what we wanted so we key framed this out with adding extra camera spots where needed.

I thought our render time was going to take forever but it actually wasn’t to bad considering every seen we had, had over 100000+ photons bouncing around and it had global illumination and final gather on and shadows through ray tracing.

The render times where between 5-10 minutes a frame and that depended on what sizes we planned on rendering at, we felt pretty devastated that we only found out about this fake illumination after we had completed lighting up all the rooms, I figure we could have cut render times down to 2minutes or less.

These render times where estimated off mine and Justin’s super computers which where running Maya service pack 1, which picks up on 64 bit systems and utilizes more ram and cpu in renders that it goes faster. I rendered out this same scene on the uni computers in the studio pc lab and it took just over 48minutes to do one scene with out occlusion pass.

Lucky for us I guess.

Well the final project was completed here and it ended up looking very nice and realistic, I would have liked to lit up more of the rooms to give them all day time lighting but most of the shots are set up for mid afternoon light and the light is bouncing directly through the master bedroom down towards the rest of the house which has the early evening look about them.

The shadows came out fantastic and dare I say our occlusion pass’s and Photoshop overlaying made the renders and shadows that much better and that much fancier looking. Wow I honestly don’t know where we would be without those occlusion passes.

Quad Core systems and 8gig ram For the win!

All these images are what I have based my lighting experiments on and used to perfect the lighting for our indoor environment, before this project I may of just added a directional light into the scene and hoped for the best but I did a lot of research in this area of lighting and how to get the best outcomes using mentaray and also researched sub lighting categories such as that of final gather and global illumination as well as the importance of ray tracing and how to set up shadows to get smooth edges and bounce the right amount of times to get a nice un darkened area in a scene.

What I found out, the more photons in the scene the more the light will bounce around, the more shadows in the ray tracing the better the light lightens up dark areas this works well with the lights intensity setting.

Occlusion passes are best to get shadows and a colour balance in the picture.

I have learnt so much this project about lighting and now that I rethink it I think that my other 3d projects may have looked so much better if I did what I knew now in my scenes.
This is what freaked me out at first ha but I found out how to turn this annoying thing off after every render so I can see the scene again. Its called map visualiser and gives somewhat of a photon party to the scene.

Here are the rooms I am really pleased with the lighting in.

In this scene I used 5 area lights, 2 of which are in focus and are providing light through each window plane, but this wasn’t enough light for my scene… it needed more to light up even the darkest paths, I used 2 point lights in the roof to simulate a down light or 2 and added a background texture to the window to simulate outside and what it would look like out there to portray the inside of the house.

As you can see here the shadows being cast are smoothed and blurred out to give it a really nice real effect to this room, the colours and the unique items added to the scene give it size and depth. I added a feature wall in the back which was a primary colour which gives the room a better and sensual feel to it.

What brought the shadows out more and darkened the scene to what it looks like now was the occlusion layer I had rendered out and then I combined the 2 files together in Photoshop using the overlay blend mode as the mode of choice for the occlusions, I turned the fill down a little and make it a little less opacity for it and this is the final result.

I am pretty happy with the carpet in this scene, I think the floor is what really makes a scene and gives it the real look and feel to it.

This room had a little less light to it because it is all the way down at the end of the house and the sun is coming in from the master bedroom and heading down towards here so the light would have decayed a fair bit at this point and give off a little less light then the other areas in the house. I took this into account when rendering out this scene and the final look of it has really come up nicely and I think does look pretty real, maybe could have used more items in the scene or even make it bigger to get a better angle but yeah this was meant to be a spare room and I think it really looks like one and is displaying all a spare room needs to show.

I really like this scene, this is the more modern of all, the furniture in here is what you will basically find in most homes these days. Wood is the new thing that everyone is getting these days, its affordable looks good and last quite a long time and can be pretty much sculptured into anything design wise.

Lights in this scene, there is lights coming in directly from the windows that you can see, a area light is used there, there is also a area light to the right of the scene coming from the doors which gives this scene a good shadow bounce. If you haven’t noticed yet the floor is reflecting a little shine which is sending a little blue light across the room which also ads to the scene. Again the occlusion pass made this scene look as awesome as it does.

These above few rendered images are more test renders I did trying different angles, different textures, different lights.

I thought I would give myself a variety to choose from when deciding on how to present our final product, I do like a few of these early renders but as we progressed further these ones done look as good as the finals but they are what made the final ones look outstanding as they where supposed to be.

Textures

Here are a few textures I decided on using in the final product of the Master bedroom, I was after 3 different kinds of wood in the room so tha everything wasn’t similar.

I made the chest and the drawers match each other because they where acting as a set of objects in the room and they generally are the same colour when you think about it. The quilt was probably one of the harder scenes to get, I mean there’s quilts then there is quilts, I couldn’t just bee seen in a quilt that brought no dynamics to the scene.

http://www.cgtextures.com

This is the site that had free to use textures on there and it was a really extended texture database so many choices and variety to choose from.

This is a texture map file for the master bedroom scene the one I created, I laid it all out on the so that I wouldn’t overlap any materials and so I could get a better feel for what I am texturing and how it will be being applied to the object.

As you can see in the top there is quite a few chromes and shines which are used for the more metallic objects. In this case in this scene they are the lamps base and pole.

A big shout out to these guys for with out them and there tutorials I would not have learnt as much as I did about lighting and mental ray rendering which is exactly what I needed to know.

Problems Encountered

Here is a list of problems encountered in this project.

1. Group Motivation

3. Rendering

4. Lighting

5. Modelling

6. Other work assignments

1. The group was not motivated when it came to undergoing tasks relating to this project, we assumed the project would be a lot easier then what it was…. Boy where we proven wrong here, this project was pretty intense work wise and time consuming.

2. Time Management, well we set out to achieve certain milestones by certain weeks but for 3 weeks solid we failed at doing any studio work, this was mostly due to prior commitments of homework and outside work related incidents. After doing this project I think I now have a better sense of timing especially when it comes to setting up the scene and estimating render times.

3. Rendering troubles galore… well to begin with some of the software, “Maya” would crash its server whilst we worked on it at uni and this one time it happened we where in the middle of a batch render and it kind of stuffed the sequence up. Also our render times where pretty massive up to 45 minutes per frame and 50mins for an occlusion. Sometimes we would get blotches on the screen where more light was needed to bounce the colour off.

4. Lighting was such a bother at some points, especially when trying to test to see if you have put enough light into certain areas, this would take quite a bit of time to render all out even finding out the light was wrong.

5. We had quite a bit of troubles when it came to modelling certain objects, such as chairs and couches, the bends in these items were a little hard to replicate perfectly and due to this we would end up with some pretty squared item renders. Not cool.

Also modelling doors and hinges proved to be quite the hassle, lining them up right and making sure they open the right way where just painful.

6. Other work commitments in classes such as interactive environments and digital post production, these other assignments where just as important as this one is but they for some reason took a higher priority then this. This could explain our slack level of works in week 7 to 9.

Week 5 -

Goals To Achieve

-Model Master Bedroom

-Model Furniture

-Model Random parts of furniture

-Design the basic interface of website

-Try out some different lighting and texture techniques

————————————————————

Yeah so this week was intense I put together a mock up of modelled items together to make a master bedroom, its actually looked pretty nice but it will look better once its textured and stuff, i tried moving stuff around to get a good look of it.

I tried adding some textures to the scene to scope it out give it a different feel tried a couple of lights in the scene aswell and it was alright i guess but haven’t found the right one yet.

Derrick talked about in his lecture this week about the new materials in maya that could pretty much make a scene look way bette and pre lit with out all the effort of getting textures and lighting right. Tom talked to us a bout it and I researched a litte more into it and i applied it to some models in the (see below)

Some objects modelled to form the scene.

Different lights, And a set up of the room in a mock room.

Trying different angles for a good look and feel this angle isn’t as good as the one above but i guess it depends what we want to portray but yeah.

This week was pretty good and we got a fair bit done.

Yeah i guess its ladies night… o what a night.

hah!

Peace out for this week

Week 4 -

Goals for the week: -

Model Floor plans

-Take Photos of Beds and Interior of Houses

-Research Flash designs for interface

-Research more lights

========================================

Up there for thinking! Yeah!

Back again with another blog post for all you kiddies out there in TV land!

This week the group split into separate parts of the project. Justin was focusing on finishing the floor model from the

floor plans, Ryan was researching flash interfaces and mocking up some designs for our website.

And I was going to take some photos from some furniture stores to get the modern feel and up to date look.

_ This week was pretty bad, I got rejected from a couple furniture stores like Harvey Norman, furniture Galore, Sleepy Giant, Retravision… I spoke

to the managers and asked if it was cool to take some photos of either Appliances or Bedding or Furniture and they all said no! But I was told I can use

my phone camera discreetly to take photos at a couple places but I got terrible lighting on my phone and the picture quality isn’t the best…

I found this week to be a fail on my behalf to the group.

Although I think I have made it up by grabbing some catalogues from these places so we can have a better understanding.

Might have to get my hands on a IKEA catalogue.

Lighting is a big factor I cant stress that enough and either can Tom Ha!

http://www.flashdevils.com/showthread.php?threadid=188316/Swift%203d%20Tutorials-%20Advanced.html

This site has a very good lighting tutorial I am definitely going to follow, this guy is nuts and is like a 3D guru… ha!

Yeah I can see now that we will be spending at least 3-5 weeks getting the right light and renders in mental ray ah, mental ray why cant you render ever so faster?

Thats all for this week, peace out.

Goals Achieved: -

I don’t think i acheived to many goals this week was finishing my post production assignment which was very time consuming. Derricks 3D is due next week dont know how we will go.

This week consisted of a lot of researching and finalizing the project plan.

It was pretty hard this week to figure out a company name for our business but yeah after all these acronym engines not making a cool name

Mr. Mark Szota came in and passed us the idea for a name…. TBA.

To Be Announced lol or something like that maybe its not it but hey its a name and yeah we stuck with it.

To sum up our Project plan, we plan on making some high quality renders of our desired house, using Maya 2008 technology then moving it across into

flash to make it into and interactive to use on our website so the client can browse and interact with there house, we plan on showing off a few of the main

rooms of the house.

Like Master bedroom,

I was checking out some 3D modelling this week for research on house interiors and spoke to a guy in america who is aspiring to be a modeller and he was giving me tips on lighting

Here is some of his work.

http://bradleydaugherty.homestead.com/

It’s some really good lights and lines used.

I was also researching some textures, trying to figure out whats more modern… leather, felt, colours?

A lot of decisions left to make but here are some samples

Also was researching a lot of wood textures that we may use there is so much to research it hurts sometimes haha! nah but i guess so much variety

is out there when it comes to furniture around the home we just have to pick what suits the scene.

Lights

I was also researching some forms of lighting for our 3D project, this is going to be the hardest part, this seems to be the part

where it would make or break our project, we first have to choose the right viewing perspective then light it so it looks and feels

real.

Ah i am going to hate this part of the project sheesh! hopefully i dont get stuck with it haha nah it would be good to learn.

Didn’t really research any sounds this week, we thinking this will be optional and can wait to the final week.

Another week another blog i mean dollar… o yeah!

So this week we checked out some interior designers toget a feel for the area and fiel we where about to enter.

Plans for this week:

-Find a Client
-Finalize our client
-Brainstorm ideas

So what did I achieve this week… ?

Well I established a client, the client for this project is Lucie, we recieved house plans off her today.
It was a toss up between Lucie’s house and a couple that we had emailed to us.

sample 2

First Sample

As you can see here from the 2 samples we where first given it was a pretty outrageous idea to follow through with the details of it. We cant make out what is meant to go where and what is doing what.

The plans we chose are below:

Detailed Plans

These plans as you may see are more detailed which is what we where after and it is easy to say what one we picked to base our assignment on.
So we got ourselves a client it was all finaled.
Good end to a busy week.
Justin showed us the porta davis website which has what we want to reproduce on it, whats on there is a flash interactive of what we want to portray ourselves and so we will be using this site as reference when making our interactive flash part of the assignment.
We are still deciding on how we want the house to look and feel and what angles to use but i guess this will come in due time when we go down this path.

For now it is time for use to brain storm ideas and move on with this assignment.

Peace yo
Dan The Man

This week i formed a group with a Ryan and Justin and we were a little undecided on what we wanted to do but surely towards the end of the class we had decided on furthering our skills in 3D design and decided we would like to do a 3D studio project but what to do was another question.

We talked it out and decided that we are doing houses in interactive environments and thought that it would be a good area to further in especially after Derrick showed us a picture of a prior students work and how it landed him a job in Information visualization in the field of Archeitecture Design which is a demanding field and would be nice to get in.

So Designing the Interior of the house was the way to go right…. Yeah cant wait this is going to be the Shiz daddy of them all…. Alright thats me for this week… Keep it real!

Peace

Week 9

Goals -

-Shoot our first major scene for the trailer

-Storyboard first scene

-Get Permisson For Filming

-Get a group of friends down to be actors in the scene’s

-Organise a makeup artist for the shoot

-Buy Makeup

What i Achieved -

WEDNESDAY

This week was pretty hectic and full on who knew it could be this intense in the industry but I suppose there is a lot more people working on it and there are payed to act haha.

We stayed back late this week on Wednesday and planned out the scene we wanted to film on the Sunday, Phil had this crazy idea that we could get a jib and film with one to getter better

depth of shot. I suggested we could get a nice hallway scene where the zombie could make his first attack and where we are likely to get the better shot from.

We went into the lecture theatre and planned the story board I had some input about what shot I wanted to get.

Shots I wanted:

Pan across the students.

Student perspective of lecturer.

I wanted to get the camera and get a nice pan of the students in the seats to give it that establishment shot, having a jib gave this shot depth.

Students view of the lecturer, make it like the teacher is actually teaching the viewer about the panspermia. (refer to Phils workbook for story boards)

THURSDAY

Today I sent a few emails off to Tracie, the person in charge of security and the one who has to give us permission to film on the campus after hours. After an hour and a talking to by Mark Szota we got

given the all clear.

All clear means green lights for the weekend o yeah!

SATURDAY

We came in and set up the jib and tv and some test lights unfortunately we only had fog lights dilemma! (refer to Justins workbook about our dilemma)

I got the projector up and running so we could have a nice background behind the lectures head for the infront shot.

SUNDAY

Phil decided I should be the casting director since most the people who turned up where my mates, so I got everyone to sit down act casual and focus on the lecturer but not to much just enough for when fill did his jib thing.

We found out the lighting in the lecture theatre is very deceiving and we didn’t have enough light but the shot came out good.

This dragged on a bit but when it was over it was time for the makeup and zombie scene, the exciting part of the film, i got my friend Jennifer to do the makeup on our infected person.

I think maybe she went a little bit over with the eye shadow but i blended this in with his eyes in after effects pretty well in the final week.

A lot more creepier I think so.

Week 10

Goals -

-Shoot Lecturer

-Get Permission for hall

-Get a New PC to handle the HD

-Ideas for Clayton carpark scene

What i Achieved -

THURSDAY

I was able to get the computer working this week on the theatre so that we could project some slides behind the lecture, once it was working I googled some images here is one we used

A nice picture of earth thought it went well with the script we had made looked good through the HD once we had correct lighting set up.

I also filmed some scenes around the clayton campus today, lucky for us it was graduation day and there were a lot of people walking around with cameras and what not so we weren’t looking to sus

getting the footage we wanted.

Clayton has a lot of fountains around the campus and getting that looked like a nice shot with the sharp water and blurred out grass and plants thought we may use it later.

I was decoy actor after i handed Phil back the camera, he and Justin would act like there trying to get me in shot when really they were shooting behind me getting some students in shot for the before the infection scene.

Worked out well today, Phil showed us the Multi level carpark he wants to try and use for a scene, its caged off on a few levels looks creepy looks like it will fit our film nicely. There were ramps corners streets gardens the works a very

rick area to film at the only problem would be getting the permission.

FRIDAY

Went to CPL bought my new PC I am stoked about it, Phil seemed more so lol, now we have a beast that will handle the footage, I took Phil’s camera and captured it all to my Computer for the editing.

Week 11

Goals -

-Shoot Final Scene (Carpark)

-Start Editing

-Get clothes to dirty

-Make blood

-Get Actors

-Permisson to Film

What i Achieved -

We met up at Phils earlier in the week and did some editing of the footage, we just basically captured all the footage over to my computer and cut it up into the good parts and the bad parts and deleted what we didn’t want

and keep the stuff that actually looked like it might be decent, I also watched a couple of video copiolit tutorials on how to manipulate the eyes Number 55 and the demon face one considering it might be good to chuck on our

infected during a scene.

I also stained some clothes this week, here we are making our fake blood mix!

We had cocoa powder for the dirty look as you can see what Phil is doing, then Justin would Paste them up Red for the blood, I was wearing all white outfit this day and didn’t really want to get stained from the syrup,

but yeah I did 1 or 2 jumpers then just stuck to making the mixture for the guys to slap on, we put a few on backwards by accident but I guess that happens in heated moments haha. What a way to spend a Saturday.

Film day on Sunday and it was the big shoot. Although at the final minute we had a lot of people cancel on us and we thought that maybe this wouldn’t happen we started to have our doubts, I got our main actor to come

and he got there late as well. we started filming at 12.30 instead of 10, this was one of the problems we encountered a lot.

Here is our actors all pasted up by yours truly.

As you can see in the pictures above our actors got tired quick from all the running we made them do, I was casting director on the day and I was in charge of telling them how I wanted them to run and the formation so it would look realistic on the camera

if you check out our final footage you will see the effect we achieved with the distances they kept and the formation, we shot the scene 7or 8 times and that was just the first running scene, I was feeling fine, I was in my car driving along with Phil hanging

out the passenger side trying to get the perfect snap we tried a number of different distances from them and zooms until we were happy.

The only big problem we encountered was security issues, I had sent them an email like 2 weeks ago requesting permission to film there, I even sent them a email to confirm 3 days before we wanted to film and it turns out the guy in charge was on

holyday and he didn’t forward on to the Clayton crew to forward to the films department and thus they told us we couldn’t film. On the Saturday we talked to the security guard on duty and he says if we don’t see you then give it a go.

We did have one security encounter on the day but we swiftly ran to our cars and sat and waited it out was kind of funny.

Week 12

Goals -

-Master the motion track

-Change eyes to black

-Match some Music to action scenes

-EDIT EDIT EDIT

-Find Sounds

-Special Effects

What i Achieved -

This week I spent most of my time on 3d, but dedicated Friday-Sunday for Editing and Special effects.

Friday nights session was quite the interesting one, I really could not get my head around editing the sound into the footage of the action scene and matching it up so it looked decent, although I did try a few different takes of that

running scene with a couple of different music tracks I was willing to leave it for another day to sort out.

I mastered the art of motion tracking and changed our infected zombie’s eyes to Jet Black with a lil opacity following a video co pilot tutorial on it, it was pretty hard to get it right but it eventually worked out, I then used the demon face tutorial

to fix the shadowing around his eyes, I added a bit more grey into it, that way it looked a lot more smeared then perfectly placed eye darkening.

The hard part was trying to keep the eyes inside the lids and adjust it for any eye movements it took a lot of time and key framing but the end result was something that looks creepy.

I also created our DVD cover, it looks pretty sweet, Phil insisted it was rated R18+.

Week 13

Goals -

-Get voice over for scenes

-Final Edit

-Burn DVD

-DVD Menu

-DVD cover

-Presentation

What i Achieved -

We went to Uni and recorded our final sounds for the flick, it was pretty fun recording we all had a laugh even though it was a last minute decision.

I had to make some more adjustments to the eyes, turns out they didn’t follow the correct path I wanted them too and they jumped off his face, motion tracking is hell to edit.

I assisted Justin in his Earth special effect, I made some more changes to the editing and added some sound effects to the on screen writing and the 3d blood a nice water sound… listen out for it.

I had to match up small clips to the Radio sound as it fades in and out transit some clips with it. If that makes sense.

I dimmed out all the effects of four old Panspermia dictionary meaning made it a longer clip since not many people where able to read it last time.

I added some Drum beats to the action scene to give it a little more drama.

I had to increase the volume of Phil’s voice for the news report as he was to quiet to hear over all the other noise. Increased it so you could hear him perfect and the radio in the back.

Printed the DVD cover.

Added a tint over some of the running scenes but this turned out a little bad so we just made it slowly get darker as it goes on.

Whilst Justin was finishing the DVD menu and Phil getting changed for our presentation I made our Slides up for what we were going to present.

So this week was hell and I think if we had of planned this out a little more it would have been a little less stressful for us all.
